Native Inspiration Bonsai

I will preface my comments with the statement that I do not usually do reviews but am happy to do so for Marcela.

I have a strong interest in Australian natives as bonsai, often using species endemic to our rainforest/tall eucalypt covered property.

I appreciated how Marcela could transform a bushy leptospermum into a great emerging bonsai during the limited time of the presentation.

I had had a recent bonsai crisis of confidence, so Marcela’s workshop came along at the exact right time. I had a Mesmer-eyes which had lost the top two thirds of the tree and was at a loss about what to do. Marcela showed me a photo of one of hers that was a semi cascade in a moon pot. She assured me that the species can tolerate being cascaded and we set off to transform mine. I was delighted with the finished tree.

I then checked in on where to from here for the tree I had done twelve months earlier with her and had some advice on an initial plan for a grey gum that came up in my garden.

Crisis of confidence solved, and enthusiasm restored!
